From the day she joined this planet Joycey had a goal; to be a singer/songwriter.
All through her early years, and then teeny bop years she wrote her own music. In the early nineties Joycey was in a few bands but as is so often the case nothing happened.
Joycey continued writing her own music and in 1997 she brought out her 1st solo album Told You So.
In 1998 Joyce took part in The Ebor Players Production of Babes in the Wood opening the show and having a couple of Solo slots. “I really enjoyed playing a Wench!”
1 year later she finally met 2 like minded people who had formed a techno/grunge band called Reborn... “I was played an instrumental version of the track we now call Reborn whilst driving round a Safari Park near Glasgow! I could hear the potential, and came up with the vocal melody and lyrics…needless to say the rest is history.” The band took part in numerous Battle of the Bands, as well as supporting acts such as The Tracy Hunter Band, Dan Webster, Duck Sick, The Radio Tones and Lynchpin. As well as co-writing with Reborn, Joycey was continuing to write her own material.
In 2007 her 2nd solo album Little World was finished. 3 of her songs; Little World, Killing Time and Blue Sky made it through to the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Competition. By this time Joycey was gigging as a solo artist.
Work was started on her 3rd album Here We Go Again in 2009 and was finally completed in 2011. 4 of her songs; Listen, Rain, Rainbow Colours, The Beach, made it through to the semi-finals of the UK Songwriting Contest 2011.
Joycey will start work on her 4th album this Spring….
